Call for
Papers
Family Literacy Forum
and
Literacy Harvest
Manuscripts Due January 7, 2005
IThe National Even Start Association and the
Literacy Assistance Center announce a call for papers for a joint issue
of Family Literacy Forum and Literacy Harvest to be published in fall
2005.
Family Literacy Forum is a peer-reviewed journal published twice a year
by the National Even Start Association (NESA). Family Literacy Forum is
committed to bringing the ideas and experiences of individuals in the
field to the forefront of discussions about the literacy development of
families in home, community, and school-based settings.
Literacy Harvest is the annual journal of the Literacy Assistance
Center. Published since 1992, it highlights research, trends, and
exemplary practices in adult, family, and youth literacy education.
For this issue, we welcome manuscripts that focus on theory, practice,
or the intersection of the two, as they relate to connecting communities
to educational practice in family literacy programming. Articles may
include observations, concerns, ideas, and experiences in order to:
* Examine the role of research and continuous program development
* Raise issues and concerns about current research and practice in the
field
* Explore practical ideas for working with families and their literacy
development
Manuscript Preparation
* Manuscripts should be between 1,000 and 5,000 words.
* Submissions should be typed double-spaced, including quotations and
references.
* Submissions should be typed in 12-point font.
* Include a cover sheet with the manuscript title, authors’ names,
addresses, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses.
* The names of the authors should not appear on the text as submissions
are reviewed anonymously by peers. Instead, type an identifying word on
the top of each page.
* Follow the Publication Manual of the American Psychological
Association, Fifth Edition, for reference style guidelines. Present
